He is currently Eastern Europe and West Asia Director of Change.org and CIVICUS – Global Alliance for Citizen Participation Board Member. Before joining Change.org he was the Executive Director of Greenpeace Mediterranean and General Director of TEMA Foundation, the biggest environmental organisation in Turkey. He was the founding chairman of Doğa Derneği (BirdLife Partner) in 2002, founding member of Civil Society Development Center (STGM). Before taking on professional positions in civil society he was the Advisor of Adnan Kahveci, a former Minister of State. He founded Erciyes University Environmental Engineering Department and was an Environmental Specialist at United Nations Development Program in New York. As a social entrepreneur he is known for having created the first crowd-sourcing site of Turkey kusbank.org, and is the founder of the first ethical lifestyle social enterprise good4trust.org and has two daily news programs at Açık Radyo, the only listener supported radio station in Turkey.
