Ümit Manay

HEBÛN

Manay, was born in 1987 in Keşan district of Edirne. His family were Albanian immigrants. In 2008, Manay attended to Müjdat Gezen Art Center. In 2011, he published his first poetry book, called “Rainbow Night Out”. The poetry book won Cemal Süreyya Achievement Award. After then, Manay started to work as an activist for Hebûn Association of LGBT in Diyarbakır and as a correspondent for JINHA (Jın News Agency – Voice of Women). At the same time, Manay worked in radio and music broadcasting. In 2013 Manay, published his second poetry book, called “Lost Verses”.
