Serdar Paktin

Social Communication Strategist, Lecturer

Serdar Paktin has graduated from Military High School and quit Air Force Academy. Then, he did his B.A. in Cultural Studies. He did his M.A. in Liberal Studies at The New School for Social Research in New York City, as a Fulbright Scholar. He also worked at Whitman Insight Strategies, a strategic communications firm in New York that served politicians such as Bill and Hillary Clinton and Michael Bloomberg.

He did Strategic Planning for Marketing Communications back in Turkey. He worked as Strategic Director of Social Media campaign for Republican People’s Party (CHP) in 2011 Turkish General Elections. He is writing articles for Yeni Harman Magazine, GQ Magazine and The Perspectives by Heinrich Böll Institute. He worked as a Senior Campaigner at Change.org Turkey supporting numerous online campaigns to win victories. In 2014, joined Adam Mickiewicz Institute for consulting on communication strategies for 600th year of Polish Turkish Relations.

He is teaching an Online Reputation Management course at Kadir Has University in Istanbul, working with Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG) on fundraising campaigns, making social semiotic research for international brands. He is working on creating movements, communities and experiences for social good.
