Melda Akbaş was the project coordinator and instructor at Children’s Studies Unit, Istanbul Bilgi University between the years 2007-2016. Also she was a lecturer on “Social Responsibility”, “Children, Participation and Media” in Istanbul Bilgi University. Specializing in the fields of children’s participation, refugee children’s access to education and the media of the children, she writes her master thesis on “Children’s Participation to the New Media”, at Cultural Studies department, Institute of Social Sciences, Istanbul Bilgi University. She adapted “Analysis on the Children’s Participation at Schools in Turkey” as a children-friendly version, “Children’s Participation at Schools in Turkey; Status Report for Children”. She is a member of Association of Children’s Agenda. She works with children’s organizations as a researcher, consultant and instructor.
