Tunakan studied sociology at Marmara University and she took part in the executive committee at National Sociology Congresses when she was a student. She has worked as editor, writer, reporter, press consultant and communication specialist, specifically on social good communication projects
Tunakan is a member of various ecology and women’s platforms like Filmmor, Amargi, Cinsel Şiddete Karşı Kadın Platformu, Karadeniz İsyandadır Platformu (KİP), Yeryüzüne Özgürlük Platformu and she also volunteered as the press consultant of Filmmor and KİP. Tunakan continues to write about ecology in various platforms.
Tunakan has worked with leading experts such as Şerif Mardin, Ahmet İnsel, İlknur Üstün and she has been a social media coordinatior at various agencies, project coordinator at Woman’s Coalition, editor at İletişim Publishing, Ütopya Publishing and onedio.com. Tunakan has been working as the project manager of Myra Design since 2013.
