Berrin Sönmez is a member of Capital City Women’s Platform (CCWP). A graduate of Ankara University, she had completed her master’s degree at the Institute of History of the Turkish Revolution and as an expert historian worked as a research assistant, at Ankara University. She has also been a lecturer at the Ministry of National Education and the University of Afyon, Kocatepe. After her retirement, she joined the CCWP in order to work in the field of women’s rights. She held the presidency of CCWP between 2011-2013.
Her core activities are based on idea and knowledge development. In this context, the main method of the platform is to compel ways of participation in decission making processes through advocacy and lobbying.
